FAQ - What SafeConnect Does
**SafeConnect does not look through a student’s phone. It does not read texts, photos, contacts, browsing history, searches, files, or location.
**The app places the school’s phone-use policy on the device for a limited time. It does not monitor the student’s personal activity.
**When students arrive, they tap their phone at the school check-in point. That tap starts the phone-free timer.
**While the timer is running, supported phones pause the apps the district selects. Students keep their phones with them throughout the day.
**Calls and the Emergency screen remain available.
**If a student needs full phone access in an emergency, they can turn off app blocking immediately. The school can see that blocking was turned off, but it cannot see anything the student does on the phone.
**When the time limit ends, the phone unlocks automatically. The student does not have to do anything.
**If a student leaves early, they can tap Check Out in the app as they walk out. This ends the phone-free period, unlocks the phone, and records the checkout.
**The app reports only basic operating information, such as whether the student tapped in, whether the timer is active, and whether the phone checked out or turned off blocking.
**SafeConnect manages a school-day setting. It is not a tool for searching, tracking, or reading what is on a student’s phone.
